What does 450/550N mean?
These numbers refer to the tilting mechanism of the ErgoDynamic.

The N stands for Newton and corresponds with the level of resistance of the mechanism that causes the seat to tilt according to your weight shift. Heavier people need heavier mechanisms:

350N weight   < 110 lbs

450N weight   110 - 160 lbs

550N weight   160 - 240 lbs

650N weight   > 240 lbs (maximum 275 lbs, extra-wide seat)

Testimonials

“The real winners will be all those who buy and use the BQE stools. I'm sitting on my new stool and am thrilled about how much more focused and energized I feel while working. It's definitely more comfortable than any stool I've ever used!"
